Cooking with CBD – 5 Tips To Get You Ready to Feast

Cooking is a fantastic past time whether you are locked inside your house during a pandemic or not. Being
able to create wonderful dishes for your family, friends or significant others is a great way to show that you
care for them. What’s even better is that you can even cook or bake a meal with someone, and you are also
cooking up a memory that can last a lifetime.

One ingredient you might not normally use or even think that it can be used in the kitchen is CBD oil or
powder. You may already know about the amazing health benefits that CBD can have – including (but not
all):

  • Reduces Stress
  • Pain Management
  • Calms Anxiety

While cooking with CBD is becoming a more popular way to enjoy the benefits of the cannabinoids, some
people might be asking why include it in recipes, especially when it most likely won’t change the flavor of
your food.

Adding CBD to your food can mix up how you take CBD, instead of being stuck in a routine. It can add
more excitement to trying new recipes and exploring the inner chef inside of you. Finding new ingredients to
use and expanding on your culinary skills even if it’s a basic dish is fulfilling. Being able to make delicious
food and get the benefits of CBD is even better.

Before creating a plethora of dishes for any gatherings with friends or family, make sure to disclose that you
used CBD products in them. While it might be something that you enjoy, others might be more hesitant and
need to do their own research before wanting to try CBD.

Before you put on your chef hat and start to cook, let’s go over some basic tips to being while cooking with
CBD powder or CBD oil.

1. Know whether to use powder or oil in your dish.

When using powder, you are most likely adding a scoop to your smoothie, milkshake, or another type
of beverage. CBD oil can be used at a higher variety in cooking and can be added to most dishes
while prepping the food or even mixed into a salad dressing, for example, to be added on top.

2. Cook with no to low heat.

When the temperature of the oil or powder gets too hot then the cannabinoids start to evaporate and
you will start losing the effects of the CBD. You can’t replace your normal canola, vegetable,
avocado oil that you use now with CBD oil, they have different boiling points and are made for
different reasons. Looking for ways to add the oil or powder after dishes have cooled off or in a low
heat setting is the best way to add to hot meals.

3. Don’t go overboard

It is always better to start with a lower amount than higher when first using CBD, even if you aren’t
incorporating it into the kitchen. If you feel like you need to add more then feel free but remember
that you can’t remove any that you have already put in. Just like seasoning, a dish, starting with a small
amount and tasting to see what needs to be added is better than adding everything at once.

4. Keeping it simple

You can add CBD oil to any recipe that you already know, it’s that easy. A few drops may not seem
like a lot, but it can give you the benefits without hindering the flavors of your dish. Remember the
earlier steps when adding to your meals and find a time near the end of the cooking when the heat is
low, or no heat to add the oil to keep the effects of CBD. Mixing the oil into your pasta sauce after
cooking the pasta is a great way to enjoy a delicious meal and CBD.

5. Best places for CBD in the kitchen

The best place to store CBD is in a cool dry place. As we have learned before, heat can nullify the
effects of the cannabinoid. Another great place for CBD in cooking is within recipes that required
oil, butter, or something else that has a lot of fat in it. The cannabinoid can bind to the fat and you
can be certain that you are getting the effects of eating the prepared food.
